About GPlay Focus
A Chrome extension that keeps the Globoplay player free of distractions.
How it works
You choose
In the popup, you turn on or off each item that covers the video: the channels carousel, the Extras button and the controls bar.
A cleaner player
What you chose disappears from the Globoplay screen. With the carousel hidden, the page also gets lighter.
Louder sound
If the video volume is still low, the boost raises the sound up to 3x without clipping.
Everything stays with you
Your choices are kept in your browser. The extension sends nothing anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
Does the extension collect data?
No. It does not collect or send data anywhere, and your choices stay only in your browser.
Read the privacy policyOn which sites does it work?
Only on globoplay.globo.com. It is the only site permission it asks for, and it is used to hide the menus and adjust the volume. The storage permission keeps your choices.
Does it make Globoplay faster?
We do not promise that. What we can say is that it gets lighter: the channels carousel has about 1,100 elements, and with it hidden they are no longer drawn.
Why does the volume boost only work after a click?
Chrome only lets a page play processed audio after the person interacts with it. After changing the boost, click once on the Globoplay page and it takes effect.
Can I use only some of the features?
Yes. Each block in the popup turns an item on or off. The Ativado block pauses the whole extension, and your choices stay saved.
What if Globoplay changes its site?
It can happen. If Globoplay changes its site, a block of the extension may stop working. We are committed to updating the code so it always keeps working.
